    Aboard the Riverboat

    Europe's inland waterways

The 443-foot riverboats in Tauck's Destination Fleet – including ms Joy and ms Savor (operating on the Danube), and ms Grace and ms Inspire (operating on the Rhine) – continue to set standards for quality, comfort, the most space per guest, and the most suites on Europe’s rivers. These longer ships (443 ft. or 135 meters) accommodate a maximum of 130 guests in a total of 67 cabins. 22 suites (300 sq. ft.) offer walk-in closets, spacious bathrooms, and two French balconies with floor-to-ceiling windows. 32 cabins (225 sq. ft.) include 8 innovative “loft cabins” providing additional light and views on the lower deck. Standard cabins (150 sq. ft.) are comfortable and similar in décor to our suites. All have in-room movies, minibar, adjustable heating & cooling, a private bathroom with shower and sumptuous toiletries and bedding. Public spaces boast panoramic windows, a Sun Deck, a casual dining area (Arthur's), cocktail lounge and main dining room, The Compass Rose.

Our 361-foot riverboats in Central Europe include the recently redesigned ms Treasures and ms Esprit, cruising the historic Rhine and Danube rivers as part of Tauck's Destination Fleet. Both redesigned 361-foot (110-meter) riverboats sport a new deck plan optimized for the utmost in spaciousness – with 70% of their cabins measuring 225 square feet or larger – and accommodating no more than 98 guests, while similar-sized riverboats average about 160. Guest amenities inside their 14 lush 300-square-foot Tauck Suites include brocade upholstery, roomy walk-in closets with built-in drawers, spacious marble bathrooms with separate showers, and two French balconies with floor-to-ceiling windows that open to idyllic riverscapes. They also sport twenty roomy 225-square-foot cabins, four 183-square-foot cabins and one 182 square-foot cabin, similarly furnished. Eight 150-square-foot cabins are cozy and comfortable, and are similar in décor and style to our larger suites. 85% have floor-to-ceiling windows with real French balconies that open on to a balcony in the fresh air; all have in-room movies, minibar, adjustable heating and cooling, private bathroom and shower with pampering toiletries. In addition to our main dining room, The Compass Rose, the ships also features Arthur's, a second dining venue offering casual fare.

    Arrive Early

    W Amsterdam - Amsterdam, Netherlands

Split across two unique buildings, a former telephone exchange building and a bank, W Amsterdam is an intriguing design mix of heritage and contemporary style. The Bank building is situated across the Exchange building and offers a more exclusive and sophisticated experience within the W-DNA of Design, Fashion, Music & Fuel. This landmark building was designed by Poggenbeek and built in the period between 1906 and 1908. In this time it was one of the most modern buildings in Amsterdam with the newest technological equipment for security: underground safes with thick walls and state of the art locking systems. In 1960, the buildings’ entrance was renovated, removing many of the original features that have now been restored by W Amsterdam. The KAS Bank resided in the building for 99 years and is now listed as a ‘Rijksmonument’ (a national heritage site). The Bank building boasts stylish guest rooms that exude playful luxury and sophistication. The black and gold bedspreads, which are inspired by the original bank vaults, have been specially created by Dutch textile designer Aleksandra Gaca. The custom made pillows, designed by Sabrina Bongiovanni, include a new color palette. As a finishing touch, all mini-bars in the Bank building are shaped in the form of a bank vault, ensuring the connection to the building’s rich history. The sleek and enticing AWAY® Spa is housed in the historic bank vaults and offers guests an urban sanctuary. Additionally, the Bank building accommodates FIT® – W’s state-of-the-art fitness center; X BAR – where guests can relax during their stay; The Butcher – Amsterdam’s long awaited signature burger bar; THE DUCHESS – one of the hotel’s fine dining destinations and X BANK – a creative incubator space that showcases the city’s leading talents in art, fashion and design.
